PDF E-mail
Scratch and dent appliances are big business in today’s world. Why pay 100 or even 500 dollars more for a product when you can get one at a bargain price simply because it has a small ding or scratch you need a magnifying glass to see?
Scratch and dent appliances can be purchased from several stores online and one of the best is the Sears warehouse. Scratch and dent is not second hand, just brand new appliances that have dents or scratches due to handling etc. However, you should make it a practice to check the appliance thoroughly inside and out and also make sure you have the sales person standing by to confirm if anything is missing. Remember these scratch and dent appliances are usually sold in an as is condition.

Apart from this scratch and dent stores or outlets or warehouses as they are called do not provide delivery so you need to arrange that in advance or use the store supplied delivery agent.
I want to tell you how to repair your scratch and dent appliance so you have an as good as new appliance. My step by step method is easy to follow and we’ll soon have your appliance looking brand new.

Step #1 – an ordinary toilet plunger can help pull out stainless steel dents. Always try this method first, if the dent is deeper you can always get an auto plunger to assist you. Not all dents can be removed by this method because the location of the dent also matters.

Step #2 – missing products parts are a breeze – most stores sell spare parts and from experience I can assure you that you can always find the missing spare part! Just logon and feed in the appliance manufacturer name, model number and part name and bingo! You get what you are looking for. When buying a scratch and dent appliance that is missing a part you can get an even better bargain and then buy the missing part from any store at a cheap price but don’t forget that unless your partner is a handyman you will have to pay for someone to come fix it! A wise move would be to identify the appliance you want to buy and then first check on the cost of the missing part, add delivery and repair costs and then see if it is worth your while to actually buy the appliance. There are always other stores you can check out and buy what you need.

You can reduce minor scratches with a non-metallic dish scrubber. Be very careful; in fact don’t try this method if you are not confident. If you rub in the wrong direction you will end up with a vey visible patch that’s far worse than when you began. If you decide to try this method do a trial run first, preferably on something else or a spot that’s not noticeable.

Step #3 – if you have visible scratches one of the best methods is to paint over it. You can either opt to spray paint the entire appliance or just touch up the scratches. Either way it’s your choice. Sometimes nail polish does the trick on scratches!
